Anniversary card

It is my boyfriend's aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary, and I wanted to make an elegant card to send to them in Vancouver.

I have not yet touched the Sahara Sand cs so I thought I'd give it a shot. It is hard to see in the picture, but I used the En Francais background stamp in versamark on the Sahara Sand card and on the Very Vanilla, but it is so faint, you can't see it.

Halloween decor

Well, it's October 9th and we had our first snowfall today. It looked quite pretty through my office window this afternoon, but was horribly cold walking to my car after work. I hope it is short-lived and stays away until after Halloween.

Speaking of Halloween, this weekend I intend to bust out the decorations. So in that spirit, I made a "decoration" to take to work. I just have to frame it. UPDATE: I framed it on Monday. The first picture below is with it framed. I sort of case'd it from the October Stampin' Success magazine that SU demos get monthly.

It is an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock with six 2 1/2" squares individually decorated on it.

Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Only Orange, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black, Many Marvelous Markers in Only Orange, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive

A very pink birthday!

It was a coworker's 50th birthday this week and she LOVES pink. So this is the card I made for her along with some Beautiful Butterflies magnets. (Our office walls and doors are metal, so we love magnets!)

Card:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Regal Rose
Ink: Basic Grey, Versamark, Many Marvelour Markers: Regal Rose, Rose Red, Basic Black, Green Galore
Punches: Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/2" circle is not SU
Stamps: Cool Cat (retired), Birthdays Count (inside card)
Other: Walk in the Park DSP, Big Shot, Top Note die, Pink ribbon and rhinestones are not SU.

Butterfly magnets:
Walk in the Park DSP
Big Shot
Beautiful Butterflies die
Adhesive rhinestones are not SU
Adhesive magnet sheet

Magnet directions: Adhesive magnet sheets come 6" x 9". Pre-cut a piece of the pink DSP to that size and adhered it to the adhesive side of the magnet sheet. The magnet sheet is fairly thin and can be folded over on the one end to make the larger butterflies that are only half on the die. Sandwich die and magnet sheet between the two cutting pads. Run through the Big Shot. You will end up with 4 butterfly magnets with the DSP on one side. The two that were folded in the middle will have fold marks. I covered them up using adhesive rhinestones.

Enjoy!

For You...

My mom asked me to make a card for her friend's birthday, something bright and cheerful. I decided to make a card using the new Kind & Caring Thoughts hostess level 3 set.

I used one piece of the retired Walk in the Park designer series paper for the right panel, and the other I stamped the large flower in versamark and white craft ink on a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock.

I used the nut, bolt and screw stamp repeatedly in versamark on the background, and Stampin' Pastels and my markers with the blender pen to color in the robot.

New Home Congrats card

So friends of ours just bought their first home and I wanted to make a card for them... Thanks to Phil for the inspiration - he wanted me to make them a card in the shape of a house (fitting!) so here it is!The roof is made layering pieces of Chocolate Chip cs punched using the scallop edge punch. For the "on your new home" stamped greeting, I repurposed a couple of the stamps from "Sweet Little Sentiments" in order to spell out what I wanted it to say, and of course, used my stamp-a-ma-jig!!! I am very happy with how it turned out!

Sympathy card

This card I made for my great aunt whose husband passed away last weekend. The ribbon and glitter glue used is not Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Elegant Eggplant
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Warmest Regards (retired)
Other: White Embossing Powder

So it's been a while....

But here I am! I have been having some incredibly frustrating computer problems of late... but hopefully I can post stuff more often now.

So these are 3 Father's Day cards I had to make this last week... This first one is for my Grandfather. He's a rooster in the Chinese calendar... and he had a farm for many years - he just loved this card!!! I was so happy that he liked the card so much! :)

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: VersaMark, Bravo Burgundy, Green Galore, Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Rustic Rooster, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Punch: Word Window
Other: Stampin' Pastels, sponge dauber, Stampin' Dimensionals

This next one is the one for my dad from me. I used a copper embossing powder and copper colored large eyelets.

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Sahara Sand
Ink: VersaMark
Stamps: All Holidays, Lovely As a Tree
Other: Stampin' Dimensionals

And this is the one for my grandfather from my mom. If you're wondering why it's pink and burgundy, it's because those are my grandfather's favorite colors!!! :)

I stamped the main stamped image in bravo burgundy classic ink, then using my stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped the exact image overtop in versamark so that I could clear emboss it... turned out not bad!

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Pink Passion, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Bravo Burgundy
Stamps: Eight Great Greetings, Wonderful Favorites, Lovely As a Tree (leaf stamp)
Punch: Ticket Corner
Other: clear embossing powder, sponge dauber, Stampin' Dimensionals

More Bookmarks...

So I've been on a bookmark making spree... I just love how useful a gift it is!!

The first one is using the "Priceless" stamp set. I just LOVE that set. I also love the Purely Pomegranate card stock from the 2007/2008 In Color set. I used a sponge dauber and the Basic Grey ink pad to distress the edges and behind where the butterfly and flower cut-outs were going.

The ribbon, beads and eyelet are not from Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate (2007/08 In Colors)
Ink: VersaMark, Basic Grey
Stamps: Priceless
Punch: Scallop Edge, Scallop Circle
Other: Silver embossing powder, uni-ball Signo white gel pen, heat tool, Crop-a-dile, sponge dauber

This next bookmark I really like. I absolutely love the Great Friend stamp set.

The background was stamped with the versamark ink using the lantern stamp from Park Avenue Patterns. "friend to friend" is from Pocket Silhouettes and was stamped with versamark, and embossed with white embossing powder. Afterwards, I stamped the leaf image onto it using versamark. the white leaf image cut-out was also embossed with white embossing powder on Basic Grey card stock.

The bookmark background and scallop oval punch-out were both distressed using a sponge dauber and versamark.

Again, the eyelet, ribbon and beads are not from Stampin' Up!

Bookmarks!!

Have you ever been reading a good book, but for the life of you, you can't find a bookmark and just end up using whatever empty envelope or old receipt you can find?? Well, that happens to me a LOT, so I thought, why not make my own bookmark?!?

I decided to make one for myself and one for my mom for Mother's Day.

For both bookmarks I used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I also got to try out my new Stampin' Pastels for the first time on the flower cut-outs! I was a bit apprehensive at first, but wow, do I like them!!! On both the main and center pieces of cardstock I distressed the edges using a sponge dauber and the Chocolate Chip ink. I also used the sponge dauber in the center of the cut-out flower, and then used the pastels on it.
The ribbon, bead, eyelet and clip are not from Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Yoyo Yellow, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip, VersaMark
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Sponge Dauber, Stampin' Pastels (Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange)

The bookmark I made for my mom I also used Wonderful Favorites and Park Avenue Patterns along with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set.

For the stamped images on the Orchid Opulence and the Tempting Turquoise cardstock, I stamped the images with VersaMark. I used clear embossing powder on the "Wonderful" image. For the "to my", "mother", flower cut-out and lantern images I stamped on Whisper White cardstock in a matching non-SU ink.

The "to my" and "mother" pieces were cut out with the Word Window punch. To do this, turn your punch upside down so that you can see the stamped image through the punch hole, align the stamped image to the left of the punch and punch the cardstock. You will have a lot of white space to the right of the stamped image. Take the punched piece of cardstock and insert it back into the punch, and line it up with the punch, again holding the punch upside-down. Use the right-side of the punch on the right side of the cardstock, and line it up with the stamped image, holding the bit of cardstock that is sticking out with your fingers on the right side, and punch again.

On the flower and the lantern cut-outs, I used the Stampin' Pastels again. On the edges of the turquoise center piece, I used the Scallop Edge punch. I also used the VersaMark ink and a sponge dauber on the edges of the purple and turquoise pieces of cardstock to distress faintly.

Again, the ribbon, eyelet, beads and purple ink used are not Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Products:
Cardstock: Orchid Opulence, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Wonderful Favorites, Park Avenue Patterns
Punch: Scallop Edge
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Sponge Dauber, Stampin' Pastels (Orchid Opulence, Tempting Turquoise, Yoyo Yellow - though you can't quite see it in the picture)
